This paper has investigated the fabrication and properties of chitosan thin film (CS-GO/Ag) reinforced with silver and graphene oxide composite nanoparticles. Graphene oxide/silver nanocomposite was synthesized by a green method. Thyme plant extract was used as a reducing agent in the synthesis of silver nanoparticles. . The introduction of graphene oxide resulted in significant roughness and irregularities on the surface, which was caused by the aggregation of graphene oxide sheets. The chitosan composite layers (CS-GO/Ag) had more roughness and spherical and cubic silver nanoparticles, which improved the surface texture and improved the mechanical properties of the layer. X-ray diffraction patterns showed that the composite was successfully synthesized. The combination of these materials led to improved mechanical properties of chitosan layers. In fact, the addition of graphene oxide and silver nanoparticles increased the Young's modulus and tensile strength and improved them compared to pure chitosan layers. Young's modulus, tensile strength, and elongation at break increased by 18.7, 4, and 1.4 times, respectively.This combination could be particularly useful in electronic and sensing applications.
