Abstract
Plasmonic nanoparticles such as noble metals are nanomaterials with a wide application in various fields, which is due to their unique optical properties arising from the surface plasmonic oscillation. When these nanoparticles are hybridized with other nanomaterials such as quantum dots and magnetic nanoparticles, not only retain their properties, but also show the properties of other hybrided materials. A plasmonic nanoparticle absorbs the visible light that cause a local warming, a quantum dot has the fluorescent property that can be used as a label and a magnetic nanoparticle has the magnetic property that can be separated by a magnet. So, the hybrid of these three properties causes the extent of their application. In the current study, we will review the properties of plasmonic nanohybrids and their reported applications in recent decades. Plasmonic nanohybrids are used in various fields such as identification, measurement, drug delivery, diagnosis and treatment. Herein, examples of these applications are given in detail.
